After reading this post I suffered from a SEVERE case of shoe lust and immediately went to see if my size was still available in some of the sale shoes… and it was bad. Really, really bad. Z had to keep distracting me by waving the Christmas present that came in the mail today (thanks Santa!) in my face so I’d stop whining about not being able to buy all the shoes I wanted. (I know, wahhhh) But seriously, these are so pretty…

Institutional Investor: Gucci Sofia Palilettes Ankle Boots ($833 sale price)
Retail Investor: Pedro Garcia Sequin Shoe Boot ($180)
Sigh. I’m calling this one a retail investor FAIL. They’re just not the same sparkly goodness that I NEED on my feet. And now I NEED a cookie.

This time of year I’m usually dreaming about staying at luxurious hotels in locations anywhere warmer than DC… but this isn’t one of them. The Hotel Missoni in Old Town Edinburgh isn’t exactly the travel destination of my dreams, but more like what I would imagine the Hotel Helix in my neighborhood would be like if Rosita Missoni rescued it from its 70′s modern remix vibe and gave it a serious dose of luxurious Italian style.
The Missoni Hotel is no beach side resort, but it’s quirky, colorful, and full of texture – and as I wrap myself in a Missoni inspired Tolani scarf to brave the cold weather (cause the real thing’s not exactly in the budget), these are the things about Missoni designs that delight me.

I’m having one of those “I have a closet full of clothes but nothing to wear” kinda weeks and on top of that the one new dress I (accidentally) bought last weekend I just found online for like 40% less than I paid for it. Grumble. And holiday party anxiety has reared its ugly head… I think I need some sparkly jewels to aid the arsenal of LBDs in my closet that are leaving me feeling “eh” right about now:

BR Art deco octagon earring ($36), Alexis Bittar Elaborate Retro Hinge Bracelet ($545), Nicole Romano Silver Lace Bead Layered Chain Necklace ($330), Joomi NYC Gold Pretty Bijoux Ring ($50)
Any of these will do :) On a more positive note, I just got a shipping confirmation from Santa that one of my presents is on its way, yay! And I think it’s time for some more luxury hotel stalking…

How is the weekend over already??? Too much fun having fun means Monday AM is going to slap me in the face, but I’m trying to think about it as I enjoy my (sugar-free) hot chocolate with (light) whipped cream and rainbow sprinkles. My first official holiday (read: ugly Christmas sweaters encouraged) party was this weekend and with all the festivities (ahem, eggnog and Christmas cookies) I think the gym is calling… Umm, walking from one end of the mall to the other and freestyle performances of the Mean Girls “jingle bell rock” dance count as exercise, right?
While (not) watching football this afternoon, I spent an abnormal amount of time on Etsy looking at customized (preferably letterpress) stationery options for a gift but have yet to make any purchases… Apparently I’m not as efficient in shopping for paper goods as I am for dresses, jewelry, or anything I can actually wear… Anyone bought stationery on Etsy before? Suggestions??
(via Sarah Seven)
It’s quite possible I spent more time distracted by other things on Etsy (like Sarah Seven’s shop, I’m still amazed with everything she makes) – really, it’s an addiction. Thankfully I never really got hooked on eBay (I need everything to have a “buy it now” option) because that could really turn into a problem… Anyway… I tend to shy away from red and green most of the year, but I kept finding myself drawn to un-Christmasy things in those colors. And all these things would make great gifts, so I thought I’d share… you’re welcome!

The {AO3} DESIGNS shop has such a cute collection of clutches in various patterns. I love how the green and red ribbons pop on these versatile black and white options! Pictured are the Alexis Clutch in black and ivory damask and apple green ($45) and the sofia model ($45) – but seriously check out the shop because there are a ton of great options (and they’ll custom make them for you too)!

I have long been a fan of Nadinoo‘s delightful collections and the Sunshine’s red bow dress ($185) keeps popping up on my searches for dresses with bows. Kind. Of. Obsessed. The Pixie’s Peacock blouse ($145) with a peter pan collar and peacock feather print is adorable too – especially paired with that little metallic brocade skirt!

I’m admittedly guilty of Necklush lust. I’d take one in every color, but obvs these green ($62) and red ($115) options are the perfect numbers to add a festive touch to an outfit while keeping you warm too!

Fuss Jewelry was one of the first Etsy shops that I ever fell in love with enough to bookmark, and I still think the jewelry is gorgeous. All of the pieces manage to make a statement while still appearing delicate. While I’m usually drawn toward blue and pink gemstones, I think the Berries on Ice Earrings ($119) and the Rich Aqua Green Flourite Flower Necklace ($158) are pretty stunning as well.

Emma Watson’s growing up into quite the fashionista… and I loved her in this Christopher Kane dress on Letterman months ago, but it’s way out of my price range. (ps I was a little disappointed in his line for TOPSHOP, but maybe thats just me) But then I found this similar look on ASOS that’s wayyy more affordable!

Institutional Investor: Christopher Kane Layered Dress ($2,427)

Retail Investor: ASOS Organza Contrast Bound Edge Shift Dress ($74)
While the always thoughtful Wonderfelle always knows exactly what I want for the holiday, it can never hurt to put a few suggestions out there for those of you who may be shopping for the guy in your life:

LaCie iamaKey USB Flash Drive ($20 for 4GB, $32 for 8GB)
A great stocking stuffer for your geek who has to have a USB key with him, but doesn’t know that it is not ok for him to wear the lanyard around his neck.
Brooks Brothers Non-iron Dress Shirts ($79.50, 3 for $199)
These shirts are great for everyday wear. They really are non-iron and will look great all day long straight out of the dryer (trust me, I’m not a huge fan of ironing). A variety of fits and styles for everyone’s taste.

Barnes & Noble Nook ($259, available for preorder)
Because the kindle was so last year. This is the next generation of ebook readers based on the Android OS with a full color screen for navigation and compatibility with a variety of file types (nerd speak translation: its pretty, expandable and you can get free books from google.) And the always fashionable Wonderfelle notes that stylish covers from Jack and Kate Spade are available.

The Shield: The Complete Series Collection ($108)
Nothing says boy gift like a dirty cop with a heart of gold. But the real gift is the letting him watch Michael Chiklis’ Vic Mackey “bust perps” instead of the most recent upper east side drama of Blair and Serena.

Beer of the Month Club ($31.95/month)
Wonderfelle purchased this for me a couple of years ago and it was fantastic! Every month I would look forward to receiving a case of interesting beers. There are also clubs for every interest: wine, cigar, or even necktie (for dad?)
Experiences from Excitations.com (Price Varies)
If you are absolutely out of ideas, take a look at Excitations.com. The sell “experiences” which range in both price and coolness. A great option for the man who has everything.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 ($60-$80)
Every guy wants this. Without exception. Trust me. It is my sole reason for repairing an xbox which has sat on my shelf for over a year. If your guy owns a Playstation 3 or Xbox 360 add this to the top of the list. He’ll thank you, then disappear into his boy cave for the rest of the day/night/week. But don’t worry too much, the only complaint anyone has been able to level at this game is that it is too short.
I know I said I was too lazy to post earlier… but then I found these bags on Etsy.

They are by Mary Kaiser and you can find them in her Etsy shop or her personal site here. There’s a variety of custom patterns and sizes and I’m a little bit smitten. These look like they belong in a charming southern boutique – the kind that sells derby hats alongside antique china and is owned by a sweet woman who knows everyone by name… and this makes me happy.
In case you haven’t noticed, a Wonderfelle World got a little makeover! Honestly, I got tired of the mediocre photo of (most of) myself on the couch with a disarray of bags and shoes. Perhaps another reason why I need a new camera… There are more changes to come so please excuse the construction while we’re updating. I know nothing about custom CSS so luckily Z is in charge, of course. He will also be gracing your presence with another guest post shortly so stay tuned if you haven’t figured out what you’re getting the man in your life for the holidays yet!
This week has been completely draining work-wise and I reallly, realllly can’t wait for the weekend… I’m starting it off with lunch at Proof (one of my fave wine bars), spending Saturday shopping with my sister while her husband and Z are off on a retreat, and possibly checking out this holiday house tour in my neighborhood (including everything from elegant Victorian town homes to an ultra-modern condo of an interior designer finalist on Bravo’s Top Design and set designer for Sex in the City and her New York Times reporter husband) – doesn’t that sound delightful!? Do you have any festive plans for the weekend?
(via theDCtraveler.com)
It’s quite fitting that I’m in a lazy blogging mood because the adorable Christen from La Rue Neuve tagged me with this questionnaire… so since it takes zero effort to talk about myself, here’s a little peek into my Wonderfelle World :)
1. Your hair? thick, jet black and never been dyed
2. Your favorite food? carbs deep fried and covered in melted cheese
3. Your favorite drink? jack on the rocks, splash of diet
4. Your dream/goal? the one that ends in happily ever after
5. Your fear? not being good at things, crowds, being alone after watching SVU marathons
6. Something you say all the time? raaaaarrr
7. Something that you’re not? tall, blonde, loud
8. Wishlist item? all expenses paid vacation here
9. What are you wearing? St. John knit dress, UO boyfriend blazer, Gemma Redux mixed metal necklace, patent leather Coach ballet flats
10. Something you’re not wearing? running shoes outside of the gym, ever.
Forgive me for only answering half the questions and for being bad at this game… I don’t like picking favorites, so tag – you’re all it. To my regular readers, leave a comment with something I don’t know about you. And if you’re one of those people that reads this but hasn’t ever commented, leave one because I don’t know anything about you (except your location, IP address, and how long you spend on my blog of course).

Anyone else ready for Christmas break already??? Some of my BFFs are headed to some exotic locations and not gonna lie, I’m insanely jealous. My day was exhausting and I wasn’t going to post tonight but somehow the (Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show) + (dreaming of vacation) ended up = some holiday dressing ideas inspired by the La Mamounia luxury hotel in Marrakech (where Miranda Kerr happens to be in the pic above, gorg – per usual). I think I could luxury hotel stalk for a living – does that job exist?
